Police have released CCTV images of a 13-year-old boy who has been missing for over a week as his mother makes an emotional plea for his return.
Sanet Salhe was reported missing on April 22, and now detectives believe he may be travelling across London using the bus and train networks.
At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing dark clothing, with grey New Balance trainers and carrying a black backpack with white lines. The teenager is also 5ft 1.
The Metropolitan police says that while carrying out enquiries, officers were made aware of a sighting of Sanet on a 341 bus in Finsbury Park at around 7:51pm on Saturday, 25 April.
They are now releasing images of the teenager in hopes it will prompt anyone who sees him to come forward.
Sanet’s mum said:“Sanet – if you are reading or seeing this, please just let someone know you are safe.
“You won’t be in any kind of trouble and we all just want to know that you are ok. We love you very much.”
The boy’s mother is urging the public to help find her son by looking at the photos released by police to see if they may have spotted him particularly in the south London area.
She said: “I am also asking everyone else to look at these photos and think about whether you have seen my son.
“Please keep him in mind when you are out, especially if you are in the south London area where he is more likely to be. Any help that we can provide police will be gratefully received.”
Detective Inspector Emma Driscoll, from the Met’s missing person unit, said: “Sanet has now been missing from home for more than a week and both we and his family are becoming increasingly worried for his safety.
“While there have been a number of potential sightings, he has not made contact with any of his family and we would urge him, or anyone who knows where he might be, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.
“We believe he may be travelling across London but that he often returns to the Rotherhithe area, passing through Canary Wharf on the DLR, Surrey Quays and Canada Water.”
