The mum of a vulnerable 14-year-old boy has made an emotional plea for his return after he went missing for a second time in a week.
Esther Karaenat Obasanya whose only child Noah Amaariah was last seen in Barking, east London, on Sunday, March 1, had previously disappeared five days before on Tuesday, February 24.
The teenager who has autism and ADHD was then brought home by British Transport Police who found him at a train station. But hours later, he had vanished once more that same day, Esther says.
Now, after driving around east London searching for him, his devastated mother has issued a heartbreaking plea for her “pride and joy” urging him to ‘come back home where he is safe.’
Speaking to The Source, Esther said: “Please Noah, come home where you’re safe. Come home where I can keep you safe.
“I need you to know that there is nobody that loves you more than I do. You’re the reason my heart smiles and the fact that you aren’t home has broken my heart.
“There is absolutely no shame for you to carry and there is nothing that you can’t turn back from. There is nothing that is too far gone to cause me to stop loving you. You are my child.
“Say the word and if I have to, I’ll walk to the end of the world to find you and bring you back to safety. You are mine Ona, Opakoregodo, my small prince.”
Noah’s godmother also made an emotional appeal for the 14-year-old who they call Papa.
She said: “Papa, Ona, no matter what is being said, you are wanted and will be safe at home with us.”
Since Noah went missing, Esther says she is unable to express how she feels as it will “open Pandora’s box” and that she will “fall apart.”
The mum said: “I nearly broke yesterday after getting back and we didn’t find him.
“I went to look for my child. There were seven cars and 10 of us. We just went out ourselves. I cannot bury my son.
“I’m sleeping in little blocks of like 15 minutes here, 15 minutes there.
“I can either look for Noah, find him, bring him home or examine how I feel. But in order to keep my son safe, I cannot open that Pandora’s box on [how I feel]. I’ll fall apart.”
Esther says that when her son was brought home on Sunday, he had sustained a head injury and hadn’t received medical attention before disappearing that day.
She added that he cannot properly assess risk and that if Noah is spotted, he should not be approached and members of the public should call the police immediately.
The Metropolitan police has issued local appeals in which they refer to Noah as Amaariah.
The force added that they are concerned for his welfare and that he is missing from Rainham.
Noah was last seen wearing a grey jacket and black and white Nike trainers, with tape on the left of his glasses.
His mother says she believes he could also be in Barking or the Oxford Circus area.
