"History is trying to repeat itself"
WATCH (11mins) on Windrush Day, the final episode of our four-part series on the Windrush Compensation scheme.
We have reached the end of our Windrush series on Windrush Day today and potentially with another prime minister stepping down. But as many survivors have told me, they have no interest in celebrating while they continue to battle for justice to be served by the changing faces of No. 10 Downing Street.
This last episode unpacks the injustice which has carried on through successive governments despite promises that lessons would be learned, as well as a hidden and crucial aspect of the scandal which Hetticia and Vanderbilt are demanding answers for.
I want to say thank you to you all for supporting this work and thank you to Hetticia and Vanderbilt for sharing their story on camera which is far from an easy thing to do. They graciously let us into their son’s home and into their lives.
